Santa Marta Lighthouse, also known as Farol de Santa Marta, is a lighthouse located in the city of Laguna, in the southern coast of the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil. It was built in 1891 and it stands at a height of 29 meters (95 feet). The lighthouse was electrified in 1939 and automated in 1974.
The lighthouse played an important role in guiding ships safely to the Laguna Bay, a busy port during the 19th and 20th centuries. It is considered a historical landmark and a tourist attraction, offering panoramic views of the ocean and its surroundings. The lighthouse can be accessed by a steep staircase of 98 steps and visitors can climb to the top to enjoy the view. It is also home to a small museum that showcases the history of the lighthouse and the region.
